Mr Brophy trained as a Chartered Accountant with Horwath Bastow Charleton in Dublin and formed his own practice in 1992. He was recently awarded a Distinction in the Diploma in Forensic Accounting. He is a member of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies-Ireland (CCAB-I) Business Law Committee. Mr Brophy heads up the IFSC, Regulated entities, Fund Administration and technical support services functions in the practice. He also provides technical advice in relation to Credit Union internal audit, loan book reviews and related services. Mr Brophy currently sits on the boards of a limited number of alternative investment funds based in the BVI, Bahamas and Cayman Islands. Mr Brophy has a Commerce degree from University College Dublin, the city in which he lives.
